This is our moment. We're on the cusp of a BIG win for an end to pavement parking across England.
An amendment to the upcoming English Devolution Bill will empower local leaders to ban pavement parking in their area. This could mean an end to pavement parking in your neighbourhood - it is the moment we have been campaigning for, for over fifty years.
But we need your help to get this amendment onto the Bill.
We know pavement parking is not only an irritation for many, but outrightly dangerous to wheelchair users, visually impaired people and parents walking their children to school.
Aideen, a Living Streets supporter from Birmingham said:
"As a wheelchair user with children, pavement parking is a huge safety issue and impacts my life daily. Drivers often fail to think about the consequences of blocking a pavement and it’s so frustrating. That’s why I urge all MPs to support this Amendment – it really will make a huge difference and makes it safer for people like me to get out and about.”
Write to your MP today, telling them this is the moment they can step up to help reclaim pavements for pedestrians and ask them to vote in support of Amendment 265.
